Next Event: 4 February Sitematch London events work in a “speed dating” format, featuring a desk for each participating local authority and public sector landowner, staffed by a senior member of the regeneration, development or planning team alongside an advisor appointed by Sitematch London. Developers pre-book minute meetings with councils or public sector landowners to discuss the sites in which they are most interested. Each developer can book up to five meetings at the event. Each council and public sector body has 12 meeting slots during the day, which will be allocated to developers on a first come, first served basis. Meetings are booked either through each site’s description page or through the booking page for each council or public sector landowner. The first Sitematch London event took place in March , with a second event held in November, a third in March , a fourth in April a the fifth on 10 February , and most recently the sixth on 10 February The next event will take place on 8 February

So, along with the free-for-all Cell Polarity conference see previous post at the Royal Society that the lab co-organised, we were also invited to organise a much smaller discussion session meeting at Chicheley Hall , a beautiful country house owned by the Royal Society.
This is all great, but how do you go about encouraging people to meet new people and not to just catch up with collaborators? How do you help your scientists make useful new connections and learn about potentially helpful new techniques? And, how do you do all of this in just two days? It would, of course, be far too easy to follow a standard speed dating paradigm.
Of course something so cool would be happening in New York. I had to use my street skills to make friends—you know, be funny and sarky and keep a stash of chocolate bars to entice mums. Mummy Speed Dating would make life a lot easier.
The event starts at 8pm prompt and any guests arriving late may not be able to take part so please ensure you arrive minutes before the scheduled start time to allow for registration. On arrival at Patch you will be welcomed by one of our friendly hosts. When all the guests have arrived the host will explain how the evening will unfold and you will be provided with a scorecard, name badge and pen. When the event begins women will be seated and men will rotate between tables every 4 minutes.
At the end of each date guests mark on their scorecard whether they would like to see that person again. There will be a 15 minute break half way through to allow for refreshments. The event will finish around pm but guests are welcome to stay and mingle if they wish. Before you leave the host will collect all the scorecards in and collate the matches on our website and the following day you will receive an e-mail with the results.
